'Helicopter did not cross India border'

By Zhang Xin | China Daily | Updated: 2009-09-02 08:35

China does not encroach upon other countries' airspace, the Foreign Ministry emphasized yesterday, refuting Indian media reports that a Chinese helicopter had crossed the border between the countries.

"The Indian reports, which said there had been military friction between China and India along their border recently, were groundless," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said at a regular news conference.

Jiang said Chinese border patrols abide by relevant rules and regulations and do not cross borders or enter the airspace or territory of other countries.
