Taiwan supports economic cooperation with mainland
Taiwan aims to put a framework for economic cooperation with the Mainland in place by the end of the year, said a high-ranking official.
Lin Sheng-chung, "deputy minister of the ministry of economic affairs," quoted by Taiwan news portal, Now News, made the comment just days before the two sides hold their highest-level semi-official meeting on Saturday.
According to a recent Taiwan government survey, 70 percent of people are in favor of inking an economic cooperation framework agreement with the mainland to deal with two-way trade and investment issues. The poll of 1,067 respondents was released yesterday.
