Somali pirates release Chinese vessel

Somali pirates yesterday released a Chinese fishing vessel with its 24-member crew after holding them to ransom since last year, the Foreign Ministry said yesterday. The vessel, Tianyu No. 8, owned by China's Tianjin Ocean Fishing Co, was released around 5 pm Beijing time. Chinese navy vessels patrolling the Gulf of Aden are now escorting it.
