Most tainted milk victims' families compensated
The families of more than 90 percent of the victims of the tainted milk scandal have agreed to be paid by China's dairy association and the 22 firms involved.
By Thursday, the families of 262,662 affected babies had either received the payments or agreed to accept the compensation package.
Among the victims, six babies died and 893 were seriously sickened with urinary tract ailments after drinking melamine-laced milk powder. All but two families have so far agreed to accept the compensation deal.
