Macao an economic cooperation platform
Under the implementation of "One Country, Two Systems," Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), a highly open micro economy, benefits from a broad range of advantages including low operational costs, free port status, low taxation, extensive international economic links, a meeting point of east and west and an impeccable geographical location.
Attributed to the continuous support of the central government, efforts made by friends from all backgrounds, and under the guidance of the strategy for economic development which "designating gaming and tourism as the leading sector, with other service industries as the backbone sector, while building up gradual and coordinated development of other industries within the Macao territory," Macao is currently experiencing a steady and healthy growth.
Macao also plays a unique role in the international arena.
While actively participating in different international organizations and international covenants on various topics and issues, Macao jumps onto the bandwagon of globalization by taking parts in international affairs and extending its external relations on an array of areas including economic, trade, finance, air transport, maritime, culture, education, environment and health.
Macao has maintained a traditional connection with the European Union, and has an extensive network with over 100 countries and regions stretching across the four continents, especially with the Portuguese-speaking countries that have a combined population of 200 million.
The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), working as an official entity of the Macao SAR Government, specializes in promoting Macao's trade and investment activities.
It has been striving to promote external trade, attract foreign investment and develop trade and economic relationships between Macao and the rest of the world.
IPIM warmly welcomes industrial and commercial enterprises and investors, both local and overseas, as well as friends from all walks of life, to strengthen their contacts and communication with our institute, so that we can join forces in constructing service platforms for economic cooperation.
