The newest additionUpdated: 2008-02-19 16:12 Club 88 has the only RMB5 Qingdao draft in Sanlitun, which is the best thing the newest addition to the back street has going for it. The loud music (which can change from hip-hop to house to salsa in a matter of seconds), green laser beams, dice games and range of Chivas deals only detract from Club 88's real selling point: cheap drinks. With draft at five kuai, bottles at 10 and decent mixed drinks at 20, Club 88 should be packing in the Shootersand Kaicrowds with relative ease, but the dance floor at Club 88 is populated only by flashing lights. Maybe being the new kid on block, Club 88 just hasn't gotten the word out yet, or maybe it's the awkward location on the alley between Sanlitun's bar street and back street, but most likely it's the fact that the bar doesn't know if it wants to be a Chivas-filled dance hall or a dive bar. A good bar can't be both. Club 88 |
