Interactive delights The transience of the Beijing bar scene hardly warrants mentioning anymore, especially in reference to the Goose 'n' Duck, which has thrice relocated since 1996.

Now on the somewhat innocuous east side of Chaoyang Park, owner John Harkness promises that his new venue is worth a migration eastward. As before, a sports theme prevails, countless flat screens adorn the walls and the crooning of the cover band will compensate for any unlikely lull in noise. Upstairs allows more space for drinkers to stretch their legs, shoot some pool, or make use of the attached conference rooms. The most striking innovation, however, is the games room. A plethora of interactive delights lie within, including a batting cage, video games and a number of pastimes you wouldn't expect to find in a pub.
