Tang hits Beijing

(That's Beijing )
Updated: 2007-03-21 09:26

Tang hits Chaoyang Park Xilu with all the subtlety of a crashed camp spaceship, emanating noise and neon from every orifice.

Inside, guests are greeted by staff appropriately dressed for work in a Devonshire teahouse, making the fact that you've just walked into a box of luminous Liquorice Allsorts all the more surreal. You can't help but be impressed by Tang, but as with eating too many sweets, stay too long here and you begin to feel sick. By the time an unfortunately attired waiter (or is it a T-Bird in Pink Lady's clothing?) takes your money to the cashier, brings back the receipt, and gives it to the barman, who eventually serves up a RMB 30 Tsingtao, your senses and soul will have long been frazzled by the fluorescent nonsense of it all.

Daily 8pm-late.
