Rolling club: Coco Banana

Opened by the people behind Banana, (after months of decorating and repeated postponements) Coco Banana finally opened its doors on April 10 with DJ Magazine's world No. 1, DJ Tiesto, treating revelers to his world-renowned trance mixes.

The gig attracted so many party gals that the club was literally packed-a great start, and the club's manager, Jeffery, promised that the venue would continue hosting world famous DJs in the future.

Smaller than Banana, Coco Banana features a square bar and lounge areas around the dance floor. With its modern and shining decor and go-go dancers, Coco Banana clearly draws on Banana's style, although high rents on Gongti Xilu means higher drink prices (beers start at RMB 35). However, the location will lure a higher number of expats and means more competition for the likes of Angel, Babyface and Cargo, on what has become Beijing's boulevard of high rolling clubs.

Location: Gongti Xilu, Chaoyang District
Opening time: Daily 8:30pm-late.
