Xin Bar

(That's Beijing)
Updated: 2006-04-30 09:29

Xin BarTucked away just off the main road, near the Drum and Bell towers, this tiny little gem is a cozy place to kick back and relax on a hot summer's night.

The jumble of colorful Yunnan decorations complement the bar's distinctly old Beijing feel, which is finished off with plenty of dark wood, leafy foliage and a roof terrace framed by the tiled rooftops of the surrounding hutongs.

Inside, on the rustic mezzanine level, the thick rugs and soft bedding provide an area for patrons to recline and relax in the presence of a Tibetan Buddhist shrine.

The chairs are wicker with cushions, and the tables are draped in orange and pastel colored throws.

Beers start at RMB 15 a bottle, spirits start at RMB 25 a glass and most cocktails are served up for RMB 30. The extensive menu features Western and Chinese food, ice cream and ten different types of tea.

Location: No. 152, Jiugulou Dajie, Xicheng District
Opening time: Daily noon-late
