Memorial service to be held for Li Xing in Washington


A memorial service for Ms Li Xing will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the De Vol Funeral Home in Washington, DC.

Minister Lu Youqing of the Chinese Embassy in the US and Mr Gao Anming, board member of China Daily, will lead the service with a speech recalling her legacy.

Mr Wen Xian, bureau chief of People’s Daily North America, will offer his tribute on behalf of the Chinese journalists based in Washington, DC.

The service will conclude with a speech by a family member.

Li Xing, China Daily's assistant editor-in-chief and veteran columnist, died of a cerebral hemorrhage on Aug 7 in Washington DC, US. She was 54.
