Another Interpol Red Notice fugitive returns to China
BEIJING -- Kong Guangsheng, one of China's most wanted fugitives, returned to the Chinese mainland and turned himself in to the police Thursday, according to the anti-corruption authority.
Kong, former general manager of Shengli Oilfield Qingdao Petroleum Industrial Co Ltd, was suspected of embezzlement and fled to Hong Kong in 2012, according to a statement released by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
In April 2015, Interpol issued a Red Notice listing 100 economic fugitives wanted by China. Many of the fugitives are former government staff or employees of state-owned enterprises.
Kong is the 48th fugitive from the list to return.
