Central China's Hubei province elects new governor
WUHAN - Wang Xiaodong was elected governor of central China's Hubei Province on Friday.
The election was held at the fifth session of the 12th Hubei Provincial People's Congress.
Wang was appointed acting governor of Hubei in September 2016.
Wang, born in 1960, is a native of neighboring Jiangxi Province. He worked in the provincial governments of Jiangxi and Guizhou before moving to Hubei in December 2011.
Jiang Chaoliang was elected head of the standing committee of the Hubei Provincial People's Congress on Friday.
