The hard and worthwhile life of anti-poaching patrol team in SW China
An anti-poaching patrol team was established in 1995 by a group of volunteers from the Qiang ethnic group with the aim to protect the local ecology, wild animals and plants in Maoxian county, Southwest China's Sichuan province. Thanks to their efforts, some wildlife once on the brink of extinction is thriving.
An anti-poaching team patrols Jiudingshan mountain, in Maoxian county, Southwest China's Sichuan province, on Dec 3, 2015. Members often patrol at an altitude between 1,900 and 5,000 meters. When they walk above 4,000 meters, they will be surrounded by rising mist and fog among the mountains. [Photo/VCG] |
