Five Sichuan officials under probe for suspected graft

BEIJING - Five departmental-level officials of southwest China's Sichuan Province have been put under investigation on suspicion of taking bribes and embezzlement, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Wednesday.

The five officials include Li Kunxue, former deputy chief of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chengdu committee. The investigation has finished and the case has been transferred for prosecution.

Other officials include Liu Qianxiang, deputy head of Sichuan government affairs service and public resources trading center, Yi Jie, former deputy chief of CPC Dazhou City committee, Zhao Chengrong, former head of the college of engineering and technology at Chengdu University of Technology, and Zuo Jingjun, former vice mayor of Bazhong City.

The four cases are under investigation.
