Two children who were injured when enacting a cartoon plot received 850,000 yuan ($138,009) in compensation from the cartoon producer, cnr.cn reported on Friday.
Li Haoran, 8, and Li Hao, 5, from Donghai county, Jiangsu province, were playing with a 10-year-old boy surnamed Li on the afternoon of April 6, 2013.
The eldest child tied the two younger ones to a tree and tried to set fire to them, imitating the story of a cartoon entitled Happy Sheep and Grey Wolf. The two children were seriously injured and their parents brought a lawsuit against cartoon producer Creative Power Entertaining in Guangdong province for compensation.
The case was completed with mediation by a local court on Aug 5 and the cartoon producer paid the compensation.
