BEIJING - The newly amended Constitution of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which adds more content on reform and opening-up, will help the whole Party have a deeper understanding on significance of adhering to reform and opening-up.

The newly added content on reform and opening-up in the Party Constitution reads, "Only reform and opening up can enable China, socialism and Marxism to develop themselves," a spokesman with the secretariat of the 18th CPC National Congress said Sunday.

The spokesman said reform and opening-up are the path to a stronger China. "The rapid development of our country over the past more than 30 years hinged on reform and opening-up and the country's future development must unswervingly depend on reform and opening-up as well."

China's reform is entering into a crucial stage and development is ushering into a key period. "We must unswervingly push forward the reform and opening up with more political courage and wisdom and constantly promote self-improvement and development of the socialist system of our country", the spokesman said.

The newly amended CPC Constitution, which added more content on reform and opening-up, will help the whole Party have a deeper understanding on adhering to reform and opening-up and push forward reform and opening-up more consciously and steadfastly, the spokesman said.

The amendment to the Party Constitution was adopted at the conclusion of the 18th CPC National Congress on November 14 and the full text was released by Xinhua on Sunday.
