Politburo urges implementing congress spirit

BEIJING - The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee held a meeting on Friday to arrange implementing the spirit of the just-concluded 18th CPC National Congress.

The meeting was presided over by CPC Central Committee General Secretary Xi Jinping. The Party unveiled a new leadership lineup for the next five years Thursday.

A statement released after the meeting described the 18th CPC National Congress, held from November 8-14, as "an extremely important meeting convened at the decisive stage of completing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects."

It went on to add that learning, promoting and implementing the congress's spirit concerns the work of the Party and the country and the lasting development of the socialist cause with Chinese characteristics. It said this is of great significance in confidently completing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, under Xi's leadership.

The statement added that the foremost political task is to concentrate the mind of the Party, the nation and people of all ethnic backgrounds onto the congress's spirit, and meet the various tasks and goals that have been set in the congress. This would be done through learning, promoting and implementing the congress's spirit, the statement added.
