 Large Medium  SmallSHIJIAZHUANG - At least eight people were killed and another two remain trapped after an agricultural product warehouse under construction collapsed on Thursday in North China's Hebei province, authorities said on Friday.
Rescuers pulled nine people from the debris, with eight of them confirmed dead, according to a written statement issued by the government of Zunhua City.
The injured person who was rescued was rushed to a hospital for treatment, and the patient's condition is not currently known.
The privately built warehouse collapsed at 3:40 p.m. Thursday when 11 villagers were helping to pour concrete in the warehouse at the Yehushan Village of the city's Xingwangzhai Township.
Rescue work is under way, and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
