Discipline inspection and supervision authorities at all levels should not deter people who normally submit petitions at petition reception places or public venues, a senior official with the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China said on May 7.

Zhang Shaolong was quoted on the People's Daily website as saying that it's a legal channel for people to report petitions at disciplinary authorities and related organs should warmly receive them and seriously investigate and deal with issues they report.

In general, the report channel is smooth, and people's rights in reporting disciplinary violations are fairly guaranteed, he said.

Zhang also called on the public to obey related laws and rules to ensure workplace and social order.

People's petition activities should not disturb workplace order of disciplinary organs, and people should not exaggerate or lie in their petitions, he said.
