The Xi'an-Xianyang New Area in Shaanxi province promoted 25 key projects in Hong Kong in order to attract investment.
During the Second Shaanxi, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Economic Cooperation Activities Week, which started on Monday, the area — established in June 13, 2011 by Xi'an, capital of the province, and its neighboring city Xianyang — will try to attract partners for 25 key projects.
The projects are in fields such as environmental protection, international education, coordination of scientific and technological resources, the IT industry, trade and tourism resources development with total investments of 221 billion yuan ($35.5 billion).
According to Wang Jun, executive deputy director of the area, the zone aims to build a modern garden area to promote a new urban area, new industries and new industries and protect farmland, cultural relics and residents' rights.
