Beneficiaries should express gratitude to those who helped them with heroic deeds, as well as to the heroes' families, according to a new regulation to reward and protect "Good Samaritans" approved in East China's Shandong province.
The regulation,which was released on the website of the Shandong provincial government on Nov 6,said that people who perform extraordinary heroic deeds in the province will be given the honorary title of "Good Samaritan of Shandong Province", and will receive other material rewards granted by the provincial government.
The families of those who were disabled or even sacrificed their lives to help others will receive preferential treatment in many areas such as education, employment, healthcare and residential programs.
The regulation will take effect from Dec 1.
