Driver detained for deadly expressway accident

KUNMING - A coach driver has been detained after a coach-truck collision left eight people dead in southwestern China's Yunnan province on Wednesday, local government authorities said Friday.
As of Friday, 25 people injured in the accident remained in hospital, with two of them in critical conditions, said authorities with Huize county in the city of Qujing.
The accident occurred around 10 pm Wednesday on the expressway in Huize county. Eight people, including the truck driver, died in the accident.
Further investigation is underway.
