Local police in Hohhot, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region started investigating the source of a demolition notice attached with a bullet, Xiaoxiang Morning News reported.

The notice, posted in July, said all the households in a district in Hohhot should complete procedures related to the upcoming demolition by the end of July and all ‘nails’ (people who refuse to relocate ) still living there after Aug 15 would get a "gift," a not-so-thinly veiled reference to the bullet taped at the end of the notice.

The note showed the seal of an Inner Mongolian real estate company, but the company has denies doing so.

The local police confirmed that several house owners received the demolition notice attached with a bullet and promised to investigate the case.
