A former lawyer and staffer at a local county court has been sentenced to six years in jail on charges of prostitution of under-age girls, Chinanews.com.cn reported on Saturday.

Yang Dehui, 45, also was fined 10,000 yuan ($1,465) at the Intermediate People's Court of Qujing city, southwest China's Yunnan province Friday afternoon at the victims' appeal after the first trial in March.

Yang was only fined 20,000 yuan ($2,930) in the first trial and acquitted of forced prostitution and rape, and the retrial upheld the decision to drop the charge of rape against Yang.

The two victims involved in the case were about 14 years old.
