Pakistan to send relief goods to China

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has announced dispatch of relief goods for the Chinese people affected by the recent earthquake that devastated the northwest province of Qinghai, the Foreign Ministry said Monday.

Two special PAF C-130 aircraft would carry the relief goods to China shortly. It would contain one plane load of tents and 7-8 metric tons of emergency relief medicines for the Chinese brethren, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

"The Government and the people of Pakistan wish to convey sentiments of sympathy and solidarity with the Chinese people at the loss of life and devastation caused by the earthquake," the spokesman said in a statement.

He hoped the small gesture of support would help alleviate the sufferings of the people in Qinghai, China.
