BEIJING: US President Barack Obama attaches great importance to US-China relations and works to develop an active, cooperative and comprehensive relationship with China, Chinese Foreign Ministry cited US sources as saying.
According to a news release from the Foreign Ministry Wednesday, the US side made clear its adherence to the one-China policy and the importance it places on China's stance and concern over the issues related to Taiwan and Tibet.
The US side made the comment as Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai stopped by Washington during his overseas trip and met with senior US officials.
