A cold front has reached the east part of northeast China and the north area of northern China, with a temperature drop of 16 degrees C in some areas, the CNS reported.
An expert with the Central Meteorological Observatory said the cold snap is moving slowly towards the south and it will mainly hold the vast northern and eastern parts of China, which will be hit by a four to six-degree strong breeze and a drop of 14 degrees C in temperature.
Weather became freezing in Beijing with the fall of sleet early Monday morning. More sleet is expected in the next few days till Thursday. China’s east and mid-east will see also sleet in the coming three days.
Hebei province and Tianjin municipality were shrouded in thick fog Sunday morning. The fog is expected to stay until the coming cold air disperses it.
