Hu tours Saudi cement factory

RIYADH -- China's president toured a Saudi Arabian cement factory on Wednesday, a day after meeting with Saudi Arabian King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz.

Chinese President Hu Jintao listened to an update on the expansion of the factory, constructed by a Chinese company, the official Saudi Press Agency said.

The leaders attended the signing of several agreements, including cooperation in the fields of oil, gas, mining, health and culture, the news agency said.

The two countries also signed a memorandum of understanding for a $1.7 billion monorail project that will link the holy sites of Mecca and Medina, according to SPA. The project will be implemented in two years, the agency added.

No other details were immediately available about the visit.

Hu's first trip to the country came in 2006.
