China is ready to step up political exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and trust with Turkey and promote their all-round trade and economic cooperation, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Monday.

The relations between China and Turkey have maintained a good momentum of development in recent years. Their common interests have kept expanding and the cooperation areas have become much wider, Wen told visiting Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Koksal Toptan.

Wen said China would join hands with Turkey in fighting the "three forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism as well as transnational crimes in other forms. The two countries would also increase coordination in international and regional affairs and safeguard regional peace.

Toptan said he was delighted to see the changes and development in China and wished China would host the Olympic Games successfully.

There are great potentials in the cooperation in all areas between the two countries, Toptan said.

Toptan also voiced his hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China and to push the friendly bilateral ties into a new stage.

Toptan is on an official goodwill visit to China from April 6 to 11.
