SEOUL: Visiting Premier Wen Jiabao yesterday met Park Sam-koo, chairman of the ROK-China Friendship Association, to discus bilateral relations.

Wen had arrived in Seoul earlier in the day on an official visit.

Wen thanked Park for the contribution the ROK's friendship organizations have made to enhancing understanding and friendship, and promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

He said that the friendly relationship between the Chinese and the ROK people provided a solid social basis for the development of bilateral relations.

To further develop relations will require input from citizens in both countries, as well as the active participation and support of non-governmental organizations, said Wen.

Park said the two countries' relations and cooperation in various fields have developed rapidly, while bilateral trade and personnel exchanges have also increased.

He said he hoped the governments of the two countries would be able to make a greater effort to expand trade and cooperation, adding that South Korean organizations would continue to push for friendly cooperation between the two countries.
