Presidents of Egypt, Benin, Madagascar, Nigeria, Algeria, Mozambique arrive in Beijing

BEIJING - Beninese President Thomas Boni Yayi arrived here on Friday for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Forty eight African countries that have diplomatic relations with China are to participate in the two-day summit slated for Nov.4-5.

China and Benin restored diplomatic relations on Dec. 29, 1972.Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong visited Benin in June 2004. President Yayi visited China in August 2006.

Bilateral trade increased to 1.09 billion US dollars in 2005.
