BEIJING -- China has published a guide to the Selected Works of Jiang Zemin, former chief of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The guide introduces background information and key concepts excerpted from 203 articles in the Selected Works. It includes a speech by Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on the importance of studying the Selected Works.
The Selected Works of Jiang Zemin, compiled by the Party Literature Editing Committee, have been published and made available nationwide. They consist of Jiang's major works from the late 1980s through to the early years of the 21st century.
Hu called the 3-volume works "the best textbook" for studying the key concepts of the "Three Represents" in an in-depth manner, and for further pushing forward party building and "the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics".
The heart of the third generation of CPC leadership, Jiang developed the theory that the CPC must always represent the development requirements of China's advanced social productive forces, the progressive course of China's advanced culture, and the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the Chinese people. This theory is known as the "Three Represents".
