March 20, 1926: The Zhongshan Warship Incident

The Zhongshan Warship Incident is a political event derived from the drastic action taken by Chiang Kai-shek when he mistakenly thought he would be hijacked and taken to the Zhongshan Warship by Wang Jingwei and Soviet Union advisor Ji Shanjia. As a result, Chiang Kai-shek destroyed the KMT-CPC cooperation, seized the leadership of the revolution, and deliberately excluded the Communist Party of China.

March 20—April 4, 1990: The Third Session of the Seventh National People's Congress is held in Beijing and it elects Jiang Zemin as the Chairman of the Central Military Commission
