March 7, 1927: Peasant Movement Training Institute starts classes in Wuchang

On March 7, 1927, the Central Peasant Movement Training Institute in Wuchang started classes. It was founded by Mao Zedong, among others.

A number of notable Communist Party of China members once taught or worked there, including Yun Daiying, Fang Zhimin, Peng Pai and Xia Minghan.

The institute cultivated a group of excellent cadres leading the peasant movement who possessed knowledge of Marxism-Leninism and displayed a strong working capacity.
