The revolutionary museum is located at Ciping, the center of the base area on Jinggangshan Mountains. With tile structure and modillions, the construction is featured with elegance of the South and antique flavor of the nation. Founded in 1959, it was the first local revolutionary museum of the country. The inscription of the museum was written by Zhu De in 1962.
As a place where the history on Jinggangshan' battles is comprehensively displayed and propagandized, the museum is divided into the halls for preface, establishment of Jinggangshan revolutionary base area, development of the base area, resumption of the base area, keeping up the struggle on Jinggang Mountains, and carrying forward the spirit on Jinggang Mountains and so on. Here, with abundant historic cultural relics and detailed materials, you can know the history of the struggle, that is, MaoZedong commanded the Autumn Harvest Uprising troops to Jinggang Mountains on October 1927, which made the first step of Chinese revolutionary road of encircling the urban areas from the rural areas, and then Zhu De, Chen Yi and Peng Dehuai led their forces to Jinggangshan successively, met with Mao's forces, and established the first countryside revolutionary base area in China, shattered the military joint suppressions of Kuomintang reactionaries and the economic blockage, and eventually achieved the victory of the struggles on Jinggang Mountains.
On Jinggang Mountains, the Communist Party members delegated by Mao Zedong combined the universal truth of Marxism-Leninism with the practices of Chinese Revolution, and opened up a Chinese-featured revolutionary road of encircling the urban areas from the rural areas to capture power with armed forces. The battles on Jinggang Mountains have established a foundation of the victory of Chinese revolution. Its enduring merits will be splendid in the revolutionary history forever. Today, the museum has become the living classroom for education of the patriotism and revolutionary traditions, and played an important role in the construction of the socialist spiritual civilization.
