BEIJING - Over half of new vehicles in China's central state departments will be new energy vehicles within five years, National Government Offices Administration (NGOA) said Thursday.
At a meeting on energy and resource saving, the NGOA said central state departments will encourage environmentally friendly ways of travelling, including building charging stations.
A self-service new energy vehicle rent program was launched at the meeting.
New energy vehicles are one of the key industries that China is promoting during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020). According to the plan, the aggregate production and sales volume will reach 5 million in five years.
In addition, the NGOA will improve building energy efficiency, save more water, and promote energy-saving and low-carbon lifestyles.
