Keeping pace with global shifts

2008

Under the theme of "the Next Wave of Growth", the second Annual Meeting of the New Champions-or Summer Davos-was held in Tianjin from Sept 27 to 28, attracting 1,300 business and civil leaders, scientists from industries and governments around the world who discussed the challenges and opportunities brought by the global financial crisis.

2010

The fourth Summer Davos was held from Sept 13 to 15 with the theme of "Driving Growth Through Sustainability". More than 1,500 leaders from 88 countries and regions gathered to tackle the latest issues in world economic development including how to increase energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions, rebuild infrastructure, and provide a systemic overview of economic, industrial and technological developments to reshape business and society for the foreseeable future.

2012

The sixth Summer Davos was held from Sept 11 to 13, with the theme of "Creating the Future Economy". Over 2,000 international business and political leaders attended more than 130 sessions at the meeting focusing on global politics, economics, and social issues to shape the future of business and society.

2014

Tianjin hosted the eighth Summer Davos from Sept 10 to 12, under the theme of "Creating Value Through Innovation". The meeting attracted more than 1,600 business leaders, experts and 500 journalists from across the globe to discuss issues ranging from China's economic outlook, shifts in finance and energy, to the internet and infrastructure.

2016

The 10th Summer Davos will be held from June 26 to 28, with the theme of "the fourth Industrial Revolution and its Transformational Impact". More than 1,700 participants from political, commercial, academic and cultural circles from 90 countries will take part in the event. About 150 sessions will be held to discuss the great impact of the current industrial revolution on economy, society, ecology and culture in the future.
