Chinese shares continue rising on economic optimism

Chinese equities climbed to one-month high Tuesday in active turnover on expectations of improving economic data, which were due for release Thursday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 46.18 points, or 1.52 percent, to end at 3,084.45. The Shenzhen Component Index added 192.97 points, or 1.55 percent, to close at 12,676.24.

Gainers outnumbered losers by 701 to 155 in Shanghai and 632 to 124 in Shenzhen.

Combined turnover continued expanding to 264.12 billion yuan ($38.67 billion), from 226.76 billion yuan on Monday and 166.45 billion yuan on Friday.
