China delivers world's largest oil tanker

Updated: 2008-10-28 14:00 An oil tanker with the world's largest carrying capacity was named and delivered to its buyer on Monday in east China's Shanghai. The "Hua San" is capable of carrying 318,000 tons of crude oil. It is 333 meters long, 60 meters wide and 30.5 meters high. The maker Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co, Ltd delivered the vessel to a Singaporean oil tanker company. The company has received orders of a total of 16 such tankers from overseas. Established in 1999, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding is one of the largest and most advanced modern shipyards in China. (For more biz stories, please visit Industries)
