Shares rebound 3% after Thursday's slump

Chinese shares jumped 3.01 percent on Friday, after the government announced to lift fuel and electricity prices Thursday night.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 3.01 percent, or 82.86 points to 2,831.74 points. The key index shed 6.54 percent on previous trading day.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 2.32 percent to 9,373.69 points.

Combined turnover on the two bourses reached 113.81 billion yuan ($16.26 billion), expanding from 92.8 billion yuan on Thursday.
