June auto production up 27.82%, sales up 30%

Production and sales of automobiles in June reached 736,100 and 726,900 units respectively, up 3.59 percent and 1.82 percent respectively month-on-month and up 27.82 percent and 30 percent year-on-year respectively, according to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

The production and sales of passenger vehicles rose by 8.30 percent and 4.80 percent month-on-month to hit 533,600 and 511,900 units, a year-on-year growth of 24.67 percent and 28.63 percent respectively. Commercial vehicles enjoyed production and sales of 202,500 and 215,000 units, a month-on-month decline of 7.07 percent and 4.64 percent but a year-on-year growth of 36.95 percent and 33.37 percent respectively.

The top 10 enterprises in passenger vehicle sales in June are FAW Volkswagen, Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, SAIC-GM-Wuling, Chery, Changan, Guangzhou Honda, Dongfeng Nissan, FAW Toyota and Geely.

In total, those enterprises' passenger vehicles sales totaled 306,900 units, accounting for 59.95 percent of the total sales of passenger vehicles. Shanghai Volkswagen rose to second place from its fourth place in the previous month while Beijing Hyundai fell out of the top 10.

The top 10 enterprises by commercial vehicle sales are Beiqi Foton, Dongfeng, First Automotive Works Corp (FAW), Changan, Jianghuai, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, Jinbei, Jiangling, Nanjing Automobile Corp and Shaanxi Automobile Co. Their total sales volume of commercial vehicles reached 143,200 units in June, accounting for 66.64 percent of total sales of commercial vehicles.

The top 10 automakers in sales in June are Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), FAW, Dongfeng, Changan, Beijing Automotive Industry Corp, Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co Ltd, Chery, Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd, Geely and Hafei. The total sales of these automakers hit 604,600 units, accounting for 83.18 percent of total sales of automobiles.

Beijing Auto, Chery, Brilliance China and Hafei saw declining sales in June compared with the previous month while Changan and Guangzhou Auto witnessed a significant growth in sales.
