Gome Electrical Appliances Holding, China's largest consumer electronics retailer, will pursue a series of acquisitions to help bring audiovisual and IT sales to a target level of 50 percent of overall revenue within five years, said Gome president Chen Xiao.

Chen said the company is looking at a number of retail chains, including one based in a major Chinese city.

In 2006, Gome's sales of audiovisual and IT products made up 28 percent of sales.

Chen said Gome currently has a digital appliance market share of about 10 percent, while its share of traditional appliances is between 40 and 60 percent in leading cities.
