According to a report from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, in the first 11 months of 2006, China exported 284,000 units of complete vehicles (including completely knocked down kits and excluding vehicle chassis with engines), up 97 percent year on year, with a total export value of US$2.75 billion, up 101.2 percent year on year.

Sedan export volume reached 86,000 units with a total export value of US$570 million, up 228.8 and 163.16 percent year on year, accounting for 30 and 21 percent respectively of China's total vehicle exports and export value.

Major export targets for "Made-in-China" vehicles are Asian, African and European countries. In the first 11 months of 2006, China exported vehicles to 192 countries and regions. The top five export destinations in terms of export value were Russia (US$295 million), Iran (US$210 million), Belgium (US$180 million), Syria (US$175 million) and Algeria (US$150 million). Exports to Russia grew 300 percent from the same period in 2005.
