Commercial vehicle exports soar in 2006

China's foreign trade volume of automobile products during the January-October period of 2006 totalled US$39.9 billion, of which US$22.9 billion are exports, an increase of 44.34 percent from the same period the year before.

The accumulated exports of automobiles (including chassis) during the period reached 282,000 units, an increase of 110 percent from the same period of the previous year. The corresponding export value reached US$2.5 billion, more than doubled the figure of the previous year.

The breakdown figures show that truck export hit 128,100 units, 62.38 percent up from the previous year and the export value reached US$788 million, an increase of 5.01 percent. The bus exports volume reached 21,600 units, an increase of 120 percent, and the export value hit US$427 million, an increase of 150 percent from the year before.
