BEIJING -- Renault Group (Beijing) Ltd started to recall some of its imported Koleos vehicles on Friday, China's quality watchdog said in an online statement.
The company plans to recall 5,097 cars produced between Jan 27, 2011 and Nov 21, 2011 from the Chinese mainland, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine announced.
The cars involved are subject to welding problems in the lower front swing arm, which may cause the right front wheel to jam in its cover and lead to malfunctions while moving.
Renault promised to replace the relevant parts for vehicles on the recall list for free, according to the statement.
The company is a subsidiary of the French carmaker Renault Group.
