China issued its first green development level report Thursday. Eastern provinces got higher ranks than western and central regions, while Beijing topped the list, China Environment News reported.
The report also showed that eastern provinces' green development is relatively high, while central regions bear lower scores. Western regions' high ranking benefited from the rich natural resources, said the newspaper.
The report is used to evaluate the country's green development. The report considered 55 basic indexes, including the efficient use of resources, pollutants disposal status and the level of government investment level in environmentally friendly development.
