Nov enterprise commodity price index down 0.4%

Updated: 2008-12-22 17:24 China's enterprise commodity price index, a measure of wholesale prices, declined 0.4 percent year-on-year in November, the central bank said in a statement on its website. Compared with October, the index was down 3.0 percent, the People's Bank of China said. Coal prices in November rose 36.9 percent from a year earlier and were down 7.6 percent from the previous month. Crude oil prices fell 16.1 percent year-on-year and were down 19.2 percent month-on-month, while prices of electricity rose 2.9 percent year-on-year and were up 0.3 percent compared with October. Non-ferrous metal prices fell 48.4 percent year-on-year and were down 26.2 percent month-on-month, while iron ore prices rose 0.2 percent from a year earlier and were down 8.8 percent from the previous month.
