Reserve ratios may be further raised this year(China Daily)Updated: 2007-06-07 09:09 China may further increase banks' reserve requirement ratios by 27 basis points to 54 basis points this year, Shanghai Securities News reported, citing a researcher from the Chinese Academy of Social Science. The People's Bank of China may tell lenders to put aside 12 percent or 13 percent of deposits by the end of this year, up from the current 11.5 percent, said Zhang Ming, a professor at the academy's World Economics and Politics research department, the newspaper reported.
