EMO, the world’s trade fair for the metalworking sector, will be held in Hannover, Germany, during September 18-23, 2017.

The fair held a press conference in Beijing on February 13.

EMO is an important indicator for technical trends and innovations in the field of production technology and is organized by German Machine Tool Builders’ Association.

The fair will be showcasing the entire bandwidth of today’s most sophisticated metalworking technology, which is the heart of every industrial production process.

It will present the latest machines, plus efficient technical solutions, product-supportive services, and sustainability in the production process.

The principal focus of the EMO Hannover is on metal-cutting and forming machine tools, production systems, high-precision tools, automated material flows, computer technology, industrial electronics and accessories.

The fair aims to improve the competitiveness of machine tool vendors with new solutions, said Wilfried Schafer, executive director of the association.

At the end of January 2017, more than 1,850 firms from 42 different countries had signed up, with more than 160,000 square metres of net exhibition area.

There are about 450 exhibitors from Asia alone and nearly 110 exhibitors from China.

Roughly 143,000 trade visitors from more than 110 countries attended the previous session in Hanover in 2013.

The EMO Hannover is regarded as an innovation shop window for production technology. In 2013, 45 percent of exhibitors stated they had come to the fair with newly developed products to showcase.
